Your favorite smell
We were talking about favorite smells in another thread. Got me thinking. Maybe a little bit strange of a topic, but what are your favorite scents/smells? Mine-
My daughters hair after she showers
Stargazer lillies
My husbands cologne
A campfire
Fresh rain on pavement
Coffee
Lilac

But for real...
Coffee smells really good.
Beer. I know that may seem odd, i just think it smells good lol. Even the smell of an empty bottle.
The cherry blossom scented body wash or lotion or whatever that one of the nurses at my work uses. (Yes im creepy and i asked why she smelled so good.) Who would have guess cherry blossoms smelled so good lol?!
The air before its about to snow. Idk why but the air smells really cold and clean before its about to snow.
Theres probably more i cant think of.

Ive never gotten close enough to a horse to know what they smell like. Im guessing its a mix of rotting corpses and sewage...

LMAO! You're missing out. I do have some of the other though if you're interested, minus the sewage...side note, we had a cadaver dog on the agency I work for and use human remains to train with. NOT one of my favorite smells, that. You're missing out on the horses, they're pretty awesome.
-
Fresh cut alfalfa. It takes me back to my childhood working on a local dairy farm.
-
Campfire is definitely up there on my list. Loved going camping as a kid.
Crisp fall air
Sandalwood
certain brands of Dragon's Blood incense
-
Horses!! Lol and prehistoric horse thumb chestnuts. I know, I'm really gross and all but dat smell..mmmm
I like the smell of beer too. It comforts me.
Dishwaher steam (yum yum yummm! I wish everything smelled like it!!)
Butter and sugar mixed together when someone's making cookies. I eat a lot of it too.
Boyfriend's clothing lol
Rain
STEAK!
....and..... other things...
And now everyone add your LEAST favorite smells also!
Rubber cement...take that Pubert. And I swear if I smelled it enough I would pass out and start having an acid trip. Ecch.
Poop
Burnt butterfly wings. Ew! never try it!
Burnt hair (lots of things have been burnt in my life)

Thats actually really awesome sounding dude! I would love to go see that in action. What breed of dogs? Are you a leo?
Im good on the horses though...
-
I like horses as well kinda sweet smell. I like cats breath over puppies breath because cats breath is harder to come by.
Skunks,, I like the smell of skunks, but only from a distance.

Hahahaha! You're ate up! No horses but you're game for that?! Yes, I'm a cop and the dog was/is (he's retired now) a Belgian Malinois. Great dog at what he did but spastic and had one speed: GO!, all the time... It's pretty incredible to see them work and in various conditions (snow, rain, fog/dew, warm/cold days, etc.) and how well they can track with just a miniscule amount of scent to work with.

honeysuckles. sometimes i'll get a whiff of them when im driving out in the country. instant nostalgia.

This topic had me thinking. I love the smell of Chris's tshirts after he has worn them, his cologne/aftershave, pearberry lotion from bath and body (no longer available), anything peppermint, pot roast that has been cooking all day in a slow cooker and my apple pie. Out of all those, Chris's tees are my faves!

Absolutely to both. They are just incredibly high drive and like to be occupied. Not a bad thing, so long as you can keep them occupied but for having one at home...I'd pass. I appreciate them for their intelligence and their working abilities but I would never own one.
-
Belgian Malinois too high strung. Id imagine them being the next "pit bull" more prey drive and more high strung. DEF. NOT a dog for the average person.
spooky

I would tend to agree with most of that. They aren't for the average person but then, most working line/working group animals aren't meant to be housepets. They're great dogs so long as they have a job but without something to occupy them they tend to act out. More an owner awareness issue than a detraction to the breed.

Oooh good question! My favourites are:
Earl grey tea
Camp fire
A forest after it rains
A new book
My mum

Blood - Love that smell and the taste!
Right before and during a big rain storm
Snow, like the smell during a blizzard
a campfire
Roses
Tulips
Snake poop
I really love the smell of marijuana. The plant, the smoke, everything about it I just love the smell!
Skunks, when I fostered two babies they had such a unique smell!
Fish Stink Bait... the stuff you rub on your lures and stuff to make it really smelly for the fish.... EVERYBODY gags at that stuff but for some reason I love that smell
Strawberry cheese cake
Most of all, my mothers "The moon and Stars" perfume. I love it. When I smell it on her it makes me remember the good times when I was a kid. When I lived in Belgium and when things were safe and carefree.

It is just amazing. When they yawn it's the best. Grab them and put them to your nose. Mmmm. But at about 6 weeks they start getting dog breath. Ugh.

The 2 that came to mind first are gasoline. Don't know why. And when I came home from work yesterday my wife had made a banana bread! Banana bread baking is hands down the best smell ever (to me anyways). Cool thread.

One of my all time favorite smells is no more, I still miss it.
Freshly printed paper hot off a Ditto machine. What a great smell that was.
