Re: anyone getting/picking up a new snake for xmas
I have one of the nicest terrariums on the market right now. I got it on black Friday at my PetsMart. The Exo-Terra 36"X18"X18" and it's EMPTY! There is however a reptile show in my area this weekend. . . .I don't know if I want to let my baby spider ball or my baby blood python grow big enough to house them. I don't know if I can let it sit empty on my floor for that long. But I don't know what to get? Ball python? Boa Constrictor? I sure would love to find a Burmese, buuuuuut I can't house one at this point. What to do what to do.

Re: anyone getting/picking up a new snake for xmas
Lone Star Reptile Expo tomorrow! Well I'll be going on Sunday. Might find a carpet python or some kind of skink or chameleon. A Tegu might be cool. My options are very open. I would love to find a Green Tree Python, but from what I've seen they can be kinda pricey. We'll see.

tegus are cool. my daughter has one. they need a lot of room. hers is very tame, outside it will walk across our yard and climb into her lap while she's sitting on the ground. know what you're getting into, some reptiles require lots of attention. good luck don

She will be figuratively wrapped in bubble wrap until she ovulates or until she gets bred and ovulates next fall/spring for me. She will be my most spoiled snake. She's been paired with a black pastel once a month since October 1. Maybe she'll take...maybe she won't. We'll see.

So far my Xmas herp related "gifts" are an 18 tub hatchling rack, 2009 proven breeder fire female and a 2012 fee male pied :)
We are most likely going to pick up either a fire (or fire combo) male or a baby boa at the Orlando repticon tomorrow :)

Well, even though I went to the show fully intending to pick up an albino boa, I came home with a beautiful little 2012 Lesser girl for my Mojo. ;) I just picked her up to look at her and she climbed her way up my chest and pushed her nose into my lips, then tried to get into my Zoomed Bag. :P After that, I was not putting her back down. :D
-
Working on it, fingers crossed we'll have a 1000g pastel axanthic girl shipping on monday!
-
trying to get a morph. probably an albino or pastel because i just have two normals right now

Re: anyone getting/picking up a new snake for xmas
I can't wait til the expo tomorrow. I so don't need another snake, but I'll be looking for either a Lesser or Butter female to go with my male Spider. A Butter Bee is just beautiful. Especially if I get a real "caramel" looking Butter.

with the lesser/butter, always shop the snake not the name. I work with lessers and at the show, I'm always being asked if they are butters, I have a few pics of mine in my profile. I hope you find the one you're looking for. I'll be producing a lot of lessers this year. the breedings will be with my pastel clown male. good luck don

No new snakes for Christmas. We spent way too much on cold blooded critters this month, between replacing our 80 gallon aquarium that sprung a leak, and bringing home our new ball pythons just over a week ago. We plan to go to a reptile expo in January, but probably won't buy unless we see a "steal" we just "gotta have". Apparently there's another reptile expo in July we'll go to, and at that point maybe add to our collection. That'll give us some time to build the rack and stare at empty spaces. ;)
Forgot to mention - we are working out our list of what we want to add to our collection. We are started with a mojave and a very nice pastave. I'm like butter/lesser, as well as many of the morphs that involve butter/lesser, mojave, pastel, and cinnamon (including the pewters and black pewters). My husband is just starting to look at pictures and figure out what he likes. :)

I'm picking up a 1.0 firefly and 0.1 normal from Bob Clark Monday!

july is a good time of the year to buy. with so many new hatchlings at this time of the year, the hardest part is figuring which one you want the most. good luck with your list and hope you find some good deals, they're out there don

amazing what the fire does to the pastel. love pastels until they brown out. even pastel clowns will brown out. I held back 2 female superflies this year. if you look at my avatar you know what they will be paired with when they get to size! when you get them settled in, need to see some pics! I love the pastel fire combos, don

The wife is getting me a jag sib for christmas.

No :(
But I am with my tax return :D

Re: anyone getting/picking up a new snake for xmas
I will be adding a pied female and maybe getting my spider boy back soon. The pied should be here around the 30th. Have to get the paycheck to go pick her up. Spaz, my spider who I sold is currently breeding but I miss him terribly. He was my first morph and the guy who bought him told me I can have him back after breeding season. He was 600 grams in June when I bought him and sold him at 1500 grams. The guy said he is breeding like crazy, so if he produces I will have a proven male free of charge! =D

He has an awesome personality and just a spaz. Loved and miss him like crazy. So excited to be getting him back soon!
