Need more Dragon people! "Pics"!
We need a thread where people can post pics of their dragons. So why not this one? I know we have more than 2 members that have Dragons. I'll start :)

I agree.. looking at all these pictures makes me want to get one. I did weeks of research and browsing on ball pythons before I decided to get them and I feel like it'd be the same for these.. A good reliable starting source would be great =]

Well As there is no set in stone way to care for these animals, most follow general rules and tweak them for their needs. Most breeders do what works for them and not all are the same. I provided link to a care sheet I came up with a few years ago and is what I base my husbandry on. Its funny cause even now I see a couple of things I can change on the info provided...

I love this link for food.....

For those of you thinking about getting one.....it is one of the most rewarding pets that I have. Like I stated before....it was not my idea to get a beardie....it was the 9 yr old. But I totally fell in love. They have ooddles of personality and daily crack me up with crazy antics.
From what I have read and seen with Bob....bigger enclosures are better. We built a 4x2x2 enclosure and put in lamanite flooring...lots of ppl use tile. He is doing so well and flourishing. It is also super easy to clean which is a plus!! As babies you don't want to give them sand as they can become impacted but as soon as Bob turns one I have a "toy box" that will turn into a sand box for him to play in. They take a lot of time and those of you that have more than one amaze me as Bob takes allot of time and attention. Bob gets a bath every 2 days as they can get hydrated through their cloacal. He also likes to get brushed with a soft nail brush while in his bath. Welcome to excess when it comes to him...but he is doing so well and his colors are very bright for just being a normal guy. (I think guy)...lol...:O
I have found that beardeddragon.org is a great site and they really seem to know there stuff over there. I am no beardie expert by any means so I won't write to much more. Maybe I can get a couple of beardie experts on here together and we can come up with something. ;)
By the way Action.....holy toledo...those are some bright beardies you have. I LOVE the puffy pic (not scared of birds)...too cute. Bob has only pooffed up once and that was when he couldn't catch a loose cricket in his cage. It was pretty funny...he turned all black and had the hugest neck I have ever seen. I had to take everything out and catch it for him before he had a beardie heart attack!! lol

OMG Jack is so adorable!!! Its so awesome watching dragons get older... We didn't get sunny and Charlie as babies but even as Juvies they're fun to watch grow into their drangony selves.
As for Sunny- yes she is a bit of a tubster... she gets salad everyday and roaches everyother day. She did used to get roaches everyday... untill she really started rounding out- and we're cutting back, but she is not a fan of the salad (will only actually eat it a couple times a week), and absolutly LOVES roaches.

Haha yeha, she does. She also loves to give me some dirty looks with those eyes to let me know when she does not approve, the little bugger.
I don't have this Beardie anymore, but I figure I would post pics anyway. I got rid of him a while back.. but this was Jax. I always loved the blues on him.

Hes going to be a killer adult. Where did you get him from? I shouldnt ask that LOL * Looks at empty cage*
-
Re: Need more Dragon people! "Pics"!
Thanks BD! I was thinking the same about him too. I know all about empty cage syndrome.. I get it alot too. Purchasing this guy was a week moment.. he was so beautiful in the ad I found him in, I just had to have him. And his original pic in the ad was not that great either, but when I got him, opened up his shipping container, and he came flying out...I was pleasantly surprised at how bright he actually was compared to the pic.
I can get you the name of the breeder and an email,...altho, I did just post info on another thread regarding genetics and where he came from. If you need more info, let me know. I would be happy to help you.

Re: Need more Dragon people! "Pics"!
A few months ago, I did a "rescue" of sorts. A friend of my boyfriend's suddenly decided he no longer wanted his 5 year old male beardie anymore after getting a new dog. He'd had the little since he was a wee one.
These pictures were taken virtually the same day we brought him home.
http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...ave/Spike2.jpg
His substrate was dirty sand, which bleached out his natural colors, so I ditched that nasty stuff as soon as I could.
http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...lave/Spike.jpg
You can see how pale he is here. Not to mention lethargic. I was under the impression that beardies were all lazy. After getting him onto a proper diet regimen, man, was I wrong!
http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...ave/Spike3.jpg
Now here he is: introducing the new and improved, Spike!
http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...keRelaxing.jpg
Can anyone tell me what the white spot is under his chin? It's been there ever since I peeled off some old stuck shed...
http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...keStanding.jpg
Ohmnomnom!
http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...ave/Spike4.jpg
Thanks for looking!:D

Re: Need more Dragon people! "Pics"!
Well, the Beardie Bug has bit me hard apparently. I was scowering Craigslist the other day and stumbled upon baby beardies for sale, called the guy and he gave me a good price so I now have two 0_o Haha.
The new baby is in the front, he's about 6 weeks old and 7 grams, Jacks in the background at approx 2 1/2 months old and 14 grams (yeah, he doubled his weight in a month 0_o piggy piggy)
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1708799_n.jpg
The new baby has fantastic coloring, really sandy brown with orange/red striping on his head and cheeks.
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._8091113_n.jpg
Jack's spikes are really starting to grow, he's losing his "baby face" and starting to take on the look of an adult dragon already.

Want Want Want!
I've been wanting a dragon for about 3 years now. As soon as we move into our own place and I have space for a dragon, I'm going to get one! All these pictures are so beautiful. I love bearded dragons! I miss having them. :(

Re: Need more Dragon people! "Pics"!
That looks almost exactly like my beardie Loki! I haven't seen many that look that much like him except the others from his litter, but I haven't seen very many other color morphs...
Here's a better pic I got the other night after his warm bath:

Re: Need more Dragon people! "Pics"!
I'll have to post pictures of my big boy Yoshi soon, but all of these other crazy colored dragons make him look so lame!!! They are sooo cool!

Re: Need more Dragon people! "Pics"!
BUMP!
I got another one just the other night. I'll get pics when I have the new racking put up in the reptile room.

Re: Need more Dragon people! "Pics"!
My Lucious is getting so big. I need to get him under the photo lights to get some new pics of him after he sheds this time.
-
Re: Need more Dragon people! "Pics"!
Loki has been weighed and measured today and photographed! I've got some pics from the past week or so I've been meaning to post and I'm finally getting around to it...
Eating his veggies with prickly pear juice all over his face!
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/DSC00991.jpg
Checking out his new deck
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/DSC00992.jpg
Checking out bp.net
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/DSC00993.jpg
The day we changed his sand and tank around a bit he was so tired he fell asleep in his sand. This was a few days before he started shedding so his colors are a little dull here...
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/DSC00999.jpg
Weighed 100.4 grams today at 13 inches. He's a year old... [He just finished shedding two days ago]

Here is an update on (little) Lucious. This boy is huge compared to a year ago! Look at his fat tail and thick legs! He has also decided that he prefers his salad to anything. I had to get him a medium size dog bowl because he eats an entire heaping bowl of salad every day now. I only offer him his Dubias, supers and silks every other day now since he leaves so many un eaten. This pic was taken w my iPhone and the light makes him a lot darker than he really is. The ledge he is sitting on is over a foot long.
