Hot or Not: Piebald [Rate the Snake]

I love my critters! I wanted to post this thread to share my snakes with all yall. Feel free to rate them [or not] as you see them, I'm not trying to win any contests or anything. I've also adopted the "Cold Stone Creamery" style of rating... "Cold" being the lowest score, "Gotta Have It" for highest score. Thanks for lQQkin! And thanks to Deborah for posting how to watermark... I really like that capability, it was fun to do.

Gotta have it (with oreos mixed in)!!! I'd imagine it looks even better after it has shed...

Is he really in shed? I know the eyes look it in the first picture but the rest of the pictures don't show any signs to my tired eyes. :rolleyes:

Thank you very much. I have to blame the piebald for luring me into the ball python fad. I ignored it successfully back in the mid-1990s... lol... but I'm super glad I'm on the bandwagon now and have my dream snake. It took two years to break down and buy one. :)

While I certainly love some specimens more than others, I definitely love all pieds too! :thumbsup:

I believe he is in shed. And I agree with you, he otherwise doesn't appear to be in shed and seems to be as vividly colored as a snake can get. He is new in my care, I've had him one week. So I'm still getting to know him and his routine. But in shed or not, he took down two rat pinks last night. :hungry: Nom nom nom :D

She is definately awesome, yours is pretty too!
Mine only has the very tip of her tail then close to the tail just two little triangle running up each side the rest is white, probably the lowest white pied I have seen.

everyone should own a pied.. i'm tryin to a pair myself.. :gj:

Ya know I agree, just my personal opinion and all, but I never did really think too much of piebalds....:O

I'm a huge fan of leucism in all its forms. Personally I love high white and broken pattern pieds. Even if there is no white on the snake if it has that cool patchy pattern pieds get then I would totally love it.

There is no such thing as a bad pied. I don't think I have ever seen one that I wouldn't be happy to have in my collection.

My favorite look is when they are about 50/50 white and the colored patches are close to evenly separated and all pretty even in size. Yours is close to perfect for me.

I am super picky about pieds. They have to have strong browns bordered in black to sharply contrast the white to get a high rating in my book. This one has potential, we'll see in a couple of years how she turns out.

I like this piebald....Why? Because I like piebalds that are about 50/50 and not huge areas of one or the other....this is a good representation of what I like in a piebald!

Thanks! That was the same criteria I had for selecting him. The additional criteria I had was seeing some solid lines/pattern, close to normal patterning, instead of blurred markings (I don't know if that makes sense to anyone but me :D). Now with someone else posting a piebald on this thread, I'm reminded that I also like the low white, and at some point may search for a low white female with the same "solid lines/pattern" criteria.

I want one of these snakes soooo bad but they are WAY out of my price range lol. Every where I look they are like 1000 bucks or so. :( I REALLY REALLY want a panda pied. They are all white with black eyes and usually two black spots one about half way down and one by the tail. BEAUTIFUL!! Any one know where I could get one?

That's why it took me over 2 years to get a piebald, I wanted one badly ever since I set my eyes on one. But their prices were very high for quite a while so I had to wait. But like me, you'll get yours. :)

I love the panda pieds too! Gorgeous snakes! And those are waaaay out of my price range unless I win the California Lotto!

By the way, I am completely ecstatic, tonight Versace ate his second meal in my care, and this time it was f/t prey! Yey!! Still waiting for him to shed. Very opaque now.

i love it but i dont have a grand to drop on a snake right now so i went the cheap(er) way and baught myself 3 100% het pied this year hope they are up to waight next season. then i will have some for myself yay

Big Gunns likes the Pieds that look like that best.

Im getting a 1.1 het pied pair as soon as the weather is good enough to ship... i hope i can produce some that look like this!!

Keep watching their prices, they'll drop some more over the next couple of years. Kinda like LCD tvs. :D
