    I don't think a heat lamp is needed at all for a ball python.. it just saps humidity.
    But no, red-lights will not disrupt a day/night cycle unless one is already underway. Make sure it's a reptile specific bulb though, black lights can be harmful to reptiles.

    Well, i use them to keep the ambient temp in the tank up.. since i live in a basement, the temp in the tank will sometimes drop to 70 degrees!

    That's valid, but definitely watch your humidity.

    Ok cool.. well the humidity can range from 50-60% right.. so thats not that bad.. theres alot of moisture in the basement lol
