    Glad I asked for pictures
I am supposed to be loaning out my male pastel to my husband's co-worker. The co-worker said his female was a pastel and its her first breeding season. He's never bred her before. I asked for pictures and sure enough, he has a normal. He says she keeps getting lighter with every shed, but from the pictures, she looks like a really nice normal. So I guess that changes things. I will still loan out my male though, but he won't be getting any supers. :P

    Oh jeez

At least it wasn't the other way around, you getting a "pastel" as a loan :D

Yea, that would have sucked. Also, in the pictures, the female doesn't look very large so I told him I wanted to get a weight on her before I loaned him my male. If she's not at least 1400g, I'm not loaning him my male.

Definitely! I wouldn't loan anything of mine to someone with a small female. My understanding of breeding loans is that you get some sort of money from the babies-or a baby-to pay for the stud fee. If the female is small, the chance of getting all duds is pretty good.

weight & not a morph... the red-flag of caution is up, glad you are heeding it.

If you can mess those too things up.... what else isn't right?

He could change his hides out for something more functional (he uses those half log ones) but other than that, the snake looks healthy. I'm not sure if I'm going to loan him my pastel or not. I'd kinda rather keep my pastel for myself this season since I think one of my females might not go this season. I want to pair him and my spider male with my normal female. :)
