Baby Ball Python with mites

I'm new here and just got my first ball python last week on impulse and it has mites. The pet store was doing a horrible job of taking care of their reptiles.
Anyway after doing some research I ordered Provent a mite and it should be here in a few days.

The problem is how do you treat it for mites while allowing it to get used to its new home? The poor guy is really stressed because he's been handled every day since I've had him to get the mites off.

I'm going to try feeding him today but its doubtful he'll eat.

my bp had mites when i got him :(. i ordered reptile releif by Natural Chemistry, and Provent a mite.

what i did was sprayed the Rep relief on her body(NOT THE HEAD!!!) and that flushed the mites away. but when the PAM came, i took her out of her tank, sprayed everything down(tank, hides, plants, NOT THE WATER BOWL!!!!!!!) lol

If you don't want to buy Reptile Relief, get a tub with some lukewarm water (about 90 degrees) enough to submerge the bp's entire body. Add a drop of regular dish soap to break surface tension. Soak snake for a couple minutes, kill mites on its body.

I have to recommend Provent-a-Mite. I treated one of mine a week ago and it looks like all the mites are dead. Plus it kills the eggs and 1 treatment works for about 30 days. I've also got the substrate treated for my other one, even though he doesn't have mites, and that will go in tomorrow night. Yes, it may cost a little more, but in my opinion it is well worth the invesment. Here is the link...

Just to clear it up I don't think provent-a-mite kills the eggs?

It's rather that the residual effect it has kills the new mites when they emerge from the egg.

Someone correct me if I am wrong about that though.
