ATTN: Members from the Seattle/Tacoma area of Washington!!
I seriously need to know if you are allowed to keep reptiles in the Seattle/Tacoma area. I've heard conflicting things about up there and I really need the truth.

Due to a sudden disaster, namely my BF losing his job, we may not have enough money to stay here in Denver. My father, who lives near Renton in WA, has been wanting us to move up there for the longest time and has said he will take us in should the worst happen. We also wish to move up, but wanted to do it as a choice, not an emergency move.

At any rate, I need to know if I can take my snakes (4 BP and 4 corns) and my BTS up with me and not have a huge hassle or legal issues.
    Thanks!

First off let me say I am sorry to hear of the circumstances of your possible move. I do hope it all works out for the best.

As for your question, I don't live in that area but I did a quick search and did find this site. It lists some areas, but you might try contacting them and asking them as I'm sure with a rescue they have to make sure they don't adopt out anything illegal in the wrong area.

If that link doesn't work try http://www.geocities.com/postal_9683/laws.htm
and then there is a button for Laws and Regulations.

Hope this helps. And good luck in whatever you have to do. I kinda wish I could move up there. I loved visiting my sister there.

    Thanks. :)

I was raised up there, so I don't mind going up... I just wish it were under better circumstances.

    Anyone else have some info?

I know a few people a little north of there (Marysville and Everett) who keep some snakes but I don't know about Renton...

But I do know there's a good show in Puyallup every year! ;)

I looked for their address and found it :) They live in Bonney Lake, area code 98391.

I wrote an email to the rescue group, and will also contact that reptile club. Thanks!

    BUMP

I really need to know what the restrictions are for the Auburn/Puyallup/Bonney Lake area. I've searched through law pages and only found vague information. I have emailed a few folks and I'm waiting to hear back, including the Herp society, the animal control folks for that area, and a few others, but I would really like to hear about this soon.

I really don't want to part with my snakes, or especially with my skink. They're my family, my therapy, my companions.

If anyone has any more info, I would appreciate the help! Thanks. :)
