    Ben,

Using pictures as a link to another page is fairly easy. All you need is the URL of the page you want to link to. Go to the page and copy the URL from the address bar and that will be your hyperlink URL. Email me at jamie@glassreptiles.com if you need some help and I can assist. Wordpress is a great platform for building a site!

I do all my own html in notepad, then I change it from .txt to .html. I've been doing it for years, learned how back in 99 or so. Back then it was frontpage & Dreamweaver. I was just curious what kind of site you were making. I didn't know if you were going to sell reptiles with it or just forums.

If you really want to learn html the best way is to write it yourself in notepad, then move to a design suite. That's how I learned, then I found out about dreamweaver, saves you alot of time. You still have to know what you are doing to an extent as you start getting a little more detailed, design programs don't tend to do everything as it should be. From html then it's on to css, php, and java. You'll probably want to get a couple books on photoshop or some other graphics software to get more of a custom site.

As for wordpress, any of the CMS type sites aren't really going to teach you how to create a website. Customizing it may take some knowledge if you want to get fairly different with the look. I've never tried wordpress but if it's like any of the others it should have a toolbar to add an image and a link. I'm not personally into the CMS sites, but they are good for easily updating the site info.

As others have offered, I can help answer some questions as well or provide examples if needed.

    Good luck!
