help me breed my leos

I have a 1.2 group of leos set up.

each of the females has produced a couple clutches of eggs. they are laying them in a vermiculite humid hide. They bury the eggs in the vermiculite. I am keeping a close eye on them so the eggs are never in the box more then a day. I then take the eggs out of the hide and put them in a container with moist vermiculite. then I put them in my BP incubator set at 89 degrees. (I know this is on the warm side for leo incubation, but it should work from what I have read)

Well, every time the eggs end up going bad. One females eggs always end up getting moldy and stinky and thrown away. The other females eggs always get very round and hard... almost like a full bottle of water. then don't do anything else.

I do have a lot of money tied up in this project so PLEASE help me.

I incubated my eggs with the BP eggs as well, and didnt have any problems. The sex ratio sucked, so I wont be doing that again this year, but they were all healthy.

Are you sure the eggs are fertile? I had a few smaller females drop eggs before they were ready to breed because they were housed with the larger females and went into ovulation with them. Freaky female stuff, kinda creeps me out a bit, lol.

What kind of geckos are we talking about here anyway?

The group:

one tangerine female
one inverted stripe tremper albino het for raptor female

and

One tremper albino raptor male.


maybe the girls aren't old enough yet for fertile eggs??? If that is the case, do I need to seperate the male for now, or can i keep them all together and they will fix it themselves next season?

Non fertile eggs will mold. I have had it happen a few times. They don't really feel like eggs should either. They seem to have no structure and are weak. I have had eggs harden too. That is typically from too little humidity and they just dry out. I would bring the incubator temps down. Unless you are incubating for all males :) Keep at it man. This happens with younger girls sometimes (at least it has in my experience).

Please answer a very important question. I am VERY limited on space at the moment, but will make happen what needs to happen.

I assume my lizards are near the end of the breeding season... Like I said earlier, I am keeping them in a 1.2 group. In your opinion, is it ok to keep them together? One seems to have stopped making eggs, and the other not so sure. Once they are done laying eggs will they stop, grow, and then possibly make some good eggs next year without a need for seperation?

We got eggs until January last season. I would separate them regardless. They are likely not ready to breed and your best bet is to get them eating, growing and most importantly, not bothered by a male. Use shoebox tubs if you have to.

How much do your females weigh?

Maybe try using a dryer vermiculite mixture?

I have 2 clutches in the incubator set at 86 degrees. Of course the stupid hovabator it does fluctuates a few degrees.
