    Bp and Boas ?
Is it ok to put a boa in with a ball python or do I need another tank?

I would never recommend keeping 2 snakes together period, nor would anybody else.

    You need another tank.

They have different husbandry requirements, and boas "can" be carriers of IBD which is letal to pythons (kills them within 30 days of exposure). Some boa breeders put normal male ball pythons with their boas to determine if a new boa they brought in is a carrier, since there's no reliable test (that I know of) to diagnose IBD before death.

It is untreatable, and not worth the risk, IMHO.

I would even go so far as to suggest you house on opposite ends of your home, and disinfect thoroughly between handling animals.

BPs come from West Africa and Boas come from Central and South America. Two different parts of the world. If you INSIST on keeping different species in the same tank, at least make sure they are from the same part of the world and will not try to eat each other.

But bottom line: Dont house them together!

    Hope this helps,
