Do all male ball pythons fast during the breedings season?

Hey guys I have a male ball python that is about 500 grams and I think he might get to breeding size by this year( not that I want him to though, I feed him one small rat once a week.) If he does get to breeding size, will he start fasting during the breeding season? I know that it is normal but then I still will worry me that he is not eating.

Not all of them do I had two this year that bred and ate and never check up..
