    Finally!!!!!!!!!
:banana: Finally, after 2 years of trying to breed ball pythons I get my first clutch on 6-17-09. Now today is 8-10-09, and my first baby hatches. :D I'm so excited  I can't wait til the rest come out. Here's a pic. Sorry for the bad quality, I took it with my phone.

Quick question. He has his head through a small slit he made, should I cut it to make the hole bigger? Or should I just leave him alone? I'm scared it's gonna choke him.

Well before I had her in with my pastel I had put a normal male with her, then around last november-december I was putting my pastel in with her. And they locked up like 3 times. So i'm really hoping the pastel is the daddy. Oh and the mom is a normal.

as for your question just leave them be. They will all come out after a day or soo. Then just let them be until after they shed. Also incase you have one that the umbilical does not come off just place the snake on damp not wet paper towels and it will come off on its own just don't mess with it. Grats and good luck on some pastels.

Thanks. Oh and when you say "just let them be until after they shed", you mean to leave them in the bator until they shed, or put them in their tubs and not mess with them until they shed?

put them in their tubs. Some people even leave all of them in one tub until after they shed but I split my clutch up.

That's great news, its a wonderful feeling isn't it? You're in the official snake breeders club now. It only gets better.

generally I'll pull all the babies as soon as they leave the egg and put them all together in a shoe box in the rack with a very wet paper towel substrate and a water bowl. Once they shed I split them up into separate shoe boxes and then attempt to feed them a day or two later.
