Water snake

    Water snake
    So, this water snake has been coming up into my yard from the lake a couple times now. There's a lot of tall plants on the shore, so I'm guessing it hunts for mice or something.

    Here are a couple pics. I know they're kind of far away, but my parents took them. Would anyone happen to know what it is?

    If you could manage to get some closer pictures, of the patterns/coloration and the head, I could identify it for you.

    Even without seeing " up close" and personal photos....
    The most common that comes to mind would be the Northern Water Snake
    I found this great link, I hope it helps (seems to be more put together in MASS then in CT

    True, but I always prefer to know for sure before I say something, and without seeing a closer photo, I wouldn't want to say it to be one thing, and it be something else.

    I looked it up with the link you guys provided, and it looks to be the right snake. I'll still try to get more pictures though.

    You can see it's a sipedon by the pattern.
