    2 Boa related rescues--updated pics
I went to the house of a friend of a friend 3 months ago and discovered this individual had to be the worst pet owner in recent history. I managed to convince this waste of skin to let me take the below animals since he had lost interest.

    1. A 07 male bci being fed a single medium mouse every 14 days, mutliple stuck sheds, crawling with mites, respitory infection and on a single unregulated heat pad. Weight when I brought him home 700g.

    2. An adult male rat that was to be food for the boa, being fed whatever table scraps the dog didn't eat, respitory infection, crawling with rat mites. Also housed in a 5.5g aquarium on pine that looked like it had never been changed. Weight when I brought him home: 590g (the 700g boa would have had quite a time eating him)

After 3 months the boa is now mite-free, shed-free and up to 950gms. He is also being qt'd in a separate air space WELL away from all my pythons. We are still on medication for his respitory infection, but it is definately improving.

His tail is not a very impressive shade of red, but I think he's gorgeous.

The rat also underwent a 30 day course of baytril/doxy for his respitory infection and has recovered from that and his mites. He's also been neutered and moved in with my group and will be living out the remainder of his life as a pet. He's the hooded rat laying on the shelf on the upper right.

I'm glad that you were able to get him away from your friend and even happier to hear how much better he is doing with you!
