    Would this work?
Ok, i need a way to control the temp of the UTH on my ball pythons tank. If i cut the cord in half, stripped the wires down and connected them to a dimmer switch (like the ones for kitchen light etc) would that be a safe way to do that or would i be better off just buying a Zoomed rheostat. I think it'll work but i just wanted to get your guys opinions. Im probably gonna end up testing it.

    Thanks

you can just plug the uth into a light dimmer... idk what kind you have but at home depot they have one for like 9 bucks. but i really suggest you buy a thermostat. you can get one for around 50-60$ its wayyyy worth it. trust me.

I know for a fact home depot carries them, because i've purchased from there before. Also I know for a fact lowes carrys them, you just have to make sure you get the one that has a light socket plug, like the link mrshawt gave you.

    Hi,

Bear in mind that if your house temps fluctuate you will need to keep checking and adjustinga rheostat.

In those circumstances it might be even more worth it to get a thermostat instead.

If you don't want to spend over $50 on a thermostat, you can always get a less expensive, but also less accurate model http://www.reptilesupply.com/product...oducts_id=2534

I would recommend the Repti temp 500r over the Zilla one...cheaper too, I believe.

Good find. I have one of each of those. I like the repti-temp one better because I use 2 outlets. I thought I paid more for it for some reason though.
