I missed the deal of the century from acting to slow.CL guy was selling a 2 1/2 year old female lesser for 150.00.I emailed him back and fourth before i decided i wanted it.When I emailed and told him I wanted it he let me know he had taken her to the vet and found out she was gravid and wasn't going to sell her.I asked him what she was paired with and he said a pied.:mad::rolleye2:
What would hatch from that pair? I feel sick!

In theory 100% het pieds and lessers 100% het pied.

In reality?

It depends entirely on whether he was a scammer or not - and anyone who has a lesser and a pied is unlikely to be selling them for $150.

I know everyone wants a bargain but the chances of not getting ripped off in these kind of deals isn't exactly high.

I was skeptical also that is why it took so long for me to decide.We went on skype and he live camed the lesser it was also going to be a in person transaction..Unless I don't understand the genetics which I don't know much about it these were not hets.Does that make a difference on the hatchlings on what they would be?

No I meant if he bred a lesser (which is effectively a het blue-eyed-lucy) to a visual pied (which means it is homozygous) then the possible offspring would all be 100% het for pied with half of them being normal looking and half also being lessers.

Are you certain it really was a lesser? because hatchling lessers sell for about $500 and a breeding size female would be at least $1500-2000 anywhere I can think of.

yep it was a lesser.I don't know why I didn't just jump on it,I guess it was because I had doubts until I seen it.I won't be so slow next time.

You did yourself a favor. I'd guess there was about a 99% chance it was a scam. There is no reason anyone would sell an adult female lesser for that price. I could possibly believe a hatchling, but not a breeder. They could have posted it for sale at $500 (which is still crazy cheap) and sold it in 5 minutes. Also, anyone with a breeder lesser and a pied would not need a vet to tell them there snake is gravid.

Could you post the pics of this snake?

I agree Jon, something doesnt sound legit especially since it was on CL, lots of people would pay way more for a adult female lesser(myself included).

i wouldnt exactly say anyone with those animals wouldnt need a vet,if somebody bought a yearling of each,raised them for a year to breed them,was thier first time breeding,they could mistake it,hell,big time breeders do pairings,and dont always know if it took for a little while..however,,something does seem strange about it,i agree there
