Proper lighting schedule?

I am currently working a typical 9-5 job so the hours I have lights on in my room are pretty consistent and I have set my bp's light to be on a similar schedule. In August I will be going back to school and so comes the crazy lighting schedule... Some nights I will go to bed at 2 and wake up at 8 or 10 or heck noon, then the next I may be in bed by 11, waking up at 6:30. So my question is, what is the best way to set up the timer on my bp's light? Also, does it need to be the same every day? Like can Tuesday be one 10-12 hour light cycle and then Wednesday maybe start 2 hours later?

I have my timer set from 8am to 10pm. I think it could cause the snake stress if your changing the schedule everyday. I would move your ball python somewhere a bit more darker. I have mine in my closet so even when my lights are on its doesn't really bother him. He still knows it night time.

They really don't need lights.

As dsirkle stated, they don't need lights as they're noctournal. One thing you can do is just leave your curtains open, and let the natural light be the light schedule.

Other then that they sell a timer that you can set to come on and go off at certain times. That works great.

Not only are they nocturnal, but they live underground during daytime. Ambient lighting is plenty and saves your electric bill!

Yep, that's all I do, well except for the rufous because his heat is the light. I just let the natural light give them light.
