    splitting an aquarium?
Is there a way to split a large aquarium to house multiple snakes? My husband made the comment, we'd be better off getting a 55 gallon and splitting it 3 ways and housing each snake in each section. I don't know if that's recommended or not. Is it possible/recommended?

    Thanks,

Might as well get tubs at that point. A 55g is much taller than a BP needs and splitting that 3 ways will not leave a lot of floor space.

You have 3 snakes which means you might get more :P Best suggestion I can give is to get a rack. It was the best switch I made.

I did split mine when i brought home an unexpected bp. I needed an extra tank for quarrantine, and wasn't able to get to the store. You just have to make sure you secure the thing in the middle, so if they push on it they dont fall through.

I only did it for one night. I would only split it two ways, depending on the size of your snakes. With our aquarium, their is a lip on the inside, and the divider couldn't reach all the way to the top. They can squeeze through it, so make sure there is something that they can't get through. Good luck. I stuffed a towel at the top of mine, but it was only temporary. And my female knew something was wrong, and was out investigating the new wall all night. It is possible, just make sure you cover all areas the snakes can squeeze through.

Our 2 corns are still small, but too big for the critter carrier. If we split it for just those 2, and get a bigger for our ball, what do you use to split it with and how do you secure it?

    Thanks,
