Re: Balls under newsprint
alot of my pythons do that as well, ive observed they just like tighter confines. goodluck buddy :)
Re: Balls under newsprint
Yes, it is normal. They like tight, dark places, so under newsprint is the ideal spot. Mine do it all the time. I don't use hides for most of my balls, since they are in rack systems. This is their alternative.
Re: Balls under newsprint
No matter what substrate you use, they can and will come into contact with the plastic bottom anyhow. I've got aspen in my tubs at the moment, and both of them shove it all out of the way to lay right on the plastic.
Re: Balls under newsprint
The only one of mine that does it is my spider girl. She'll go round and round through the paper until it's crumpled and messy, then just hang out under it. Only 2-3 of them even use the hides, the rest lay behind them or sit on top of it, lol.
Re: Balls under newsprint
Thanx everyone. The thing is, they used to use the hide always, thats why I was concerned.
Re: Balls under newsprint
Yea, mine do that sometimes also.. It sorta bothers me b/c i feel like the tub itself is too hot lol... Try folding the newspaper to cover the surface of the floor (of the tub) exactly.... Then mist it a bit.. And they wont go under it... and will use their hides..
