    Rant about Ignorance
There is an exotic pet store where I get my feeder mice from called WNC Aquarium and Imports. I get my feeder mice from them or Exotic Pets (see other posts). Well, yesterday, I went and asked to hold a young boa constrictor (unsure whether she was BCI or BCC). She got one out of a 10 gallon aquarium holding about 4 boas. The substrate was pellets, the water was yellow, there were no hygrometers or heat sources and no hides. She picked it up with a snake hook, then proceeded to accidentally DROP it on the floor from 5 feet up! That poor thing thudded, she laughed and put in back in the cage. She handed me another one to hold and that was that. All of her snakes (young corns, adult bps, young boas, young green anaconda, etc) were on pellets with no heat sources or hides. Not to mention she is housing an albino burmese, boa constrictor, what looks like a carpet python, and several big snakes TOGETHER in a cage/room. I don't know what to do! There are two stores here that sell live feeders and this is one of them, and the other; just read some of my other posts! Why does NO ONE is Asheville know what they're doing when it comes to reptiles? Where do I get my live feeder mice from now? I don't want to supply these ignorant stores with more money, but there's no where else to get live feeders!

Switch to FT and order them on line. Then ask to see the store owner or manager and ask them why they are doing it. They may not even know they are doing wrong.

Actually, and correct me if I am wrong, the place of which you speak is really in Arden. There is a 4 foot gator in a 100 gallon tank at the entrance?

Kind of heart breaking to go in there. I would stay far away.

the same thing happens at the exotic pets store where i used to buy live feeders. They had a 10ft burmese, a 6 ft boa, and a 4ft green iguana all in the same 50 gallon tank. They all seemed to get along, but that's not to mention how they had their dogs and cats, which probably all came from one puppy mill or another. Im sure they dont wanna hear it, they probably do it because its easier, they really couldnt 'care less about the animals, its all about the $$. They rely on people coming in who dont know anything about these reptiles but are wowed by exotic animals and buy them impulsively.

I'm curious. How do you know this?

You been there? Yeah, it's in Arden, but I said Asheville for non-locals.

I know the gator's probably 5 foot, and the tank looks to be 5ft. long by 2ft. wide by 2 ft. high. It's really upsetting...!
