    I don't understand.
I watch a good bit of tv, and I really don't understand some of these movies, 50 foot croc's, 40-50 foot snakes.

Reason I am saying this is i'm currently watching "Syfy" and they have a movie on called "Snake King" and it's like a 60 foot cobra. Then the guy is sitting there swinging a machete like it's going to hurt the snakes. I think some shows like this are totally stupid, and are probably some of the reason some snakes get bad reputations.

Other movies like Silent Venom weren't so bad.

Anybody else has thoughts on this?

    That is too funny....
I care for my elderly father, and he loves sci fi movies (as horribly produced as they are:)
Anytime he sees these ridiculouse movies, he calls to see if I have them in my house
I always have to tell him that if it is on ScyFy then it doesn't count
    Go watch Discovery...lol
Just a long running joke we have.

I'm going to have to say. SyFy lost my interest once they "updated to a new age" and changed there name and seem to lower the programming quality.

people like big things. so i guess big snakes are scarier than littles ones

I mean they have a few good snake movies, like I stated above, silent predators*, not silent venom was pretty good.

The movie anaconda, wow, that movie made people believe some odd stuff. When I tell people I own a anaconda: "WOW WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WHEN THAT THING GETS 50 FOOT?", so in return I simply state, i'm going to put it on my shoulders take it to the lake and go swimming with her.

Hey .. for those harping at the new name I think you would have done the same thing being in their boat. Sci-Fi is not a license-able name, so they had no control of it's use and people profiting from it. If you are going to have a business I would think that it would be important to at least be able to control your brand.

I don't like it either, but I understand it and support it.

Boa vs. Python was pretty much one of the best movies EVAR

Giant, bloodthirsty Python on the loose? The only solution is to release a giant, bloodthirsty Boa to catch it!

Really though it probably should've been Cobra vs. Python.
You know, to be scientifically accurate.

I might be misunderstanding, but it seems like you are lauding the lack of realism in movies and television...? Aside from documentaries and the history channel I think you'll have a hard time finding realism. The purpose of television and movies is entertainment and in order to keep most people's attention it needs to be over the top. Why do you think our killers are the likes of Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees, or our crocodiles live in the sewers of NYC and swallow mack trucks

You totally missed the whole concept. I never said anything about Syfy changing their name, I was talking about the totally unrealistic movies.

I mean I know most movies are un-true, but lately they have been overdueing it. I mean they take it way too far.
