If you could have one what would you pick?
Would you rather have a savannah monitor or ball python? (I wouldnt be getting a sav for a few months ,maybe a ball python this august 16)
Whitch one is cooler and easier to take care of? Thanks

I am biased towards bp's because I have one and love her.
I don't know much about monitors except that they get bigger. At least with a monitor you don't have to worry about it not eating.

Read up on their caresheets on the site (left side of page) to see which is easier to care for.

    Bp's take patience, that's all I'll say.

I would much prefer snakes, couldn't really tell you why, I just like working with them more.

Which one is "cooler" is entirely a matter of opinion. Which one is "easier" to care for...a ball python, without any doubt. Savs are not a good species for a new keeper to choose. Check out this thread for a little insight into the challenges with keeping Savs or other monitors: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showthread.php?t=94260 It's not fair to animals like this that so many buy them just because they're "cool" without any real clue about the care they need, or the willingness to put in the work it takes. (NOT saying that's you...just ranting in general)

Whichever you end up going with...learn as much as you can up front. And then, before you buy any animal, get its enclosure all set up and run it for awhile to make sure all the environmental parameters (temps, humidity, etc) are adequately maintained.

    Good luck with it!

There are some pretty morphs out there, but I think the best thing about the morphs is that they make normals so darn cheap!!! Nothing beats the appearance of the pattern of a normal in my book!:gj:

really i wonder why people ask the question "would you choose a bp or .." on a BP fansite? lol

thats like asking on a star trek forum if star wars or star trek is better :D
