Can lightning strike twice?

Another highly anticipated clutch this season was from my melanistic female.

She was the product of a 100% het pied to a normal female. She hatched out a runt and and was extremely dark. She started feeding even before her first shed. Well, she finally bred this season.
I have always thought there was something genetic about her. I was once even offered 10K for her.
She gave me 3 eggs but 2 went bad within days. I had one go the distance.
She was bred to a pastel poss. het pied that I bought from Rusty's balls.
I was excited but also a bit disappointed.
I cut the egg to reveal a fully formed but dead snake.

A pastel pied!!!!

Hopefully, next year I can produce a melanistic pastel pied!

Sucks that he was dead. But good that you proved your snakes as being het pied!

What a let down, I am so sorry. At least you got to prove the hets, I bet next time you get something worth waiting for.
