    National Zoo Photography
I had a nice time today with my boyfriend, we went to the National Zoo in DC. I took over 200 images and these were the best ones (i have a few more but i dont have a desire to get into really heavy editing at the moment). Enjoy, descriptions are below each image. Watermarks and signatures ahoy.

One of the zoo's male cheetahs.

    http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/q...k/Basilsk1.jpg
Basilisk (i cant spell this) most of my indoor photography was taken at high ISOs because i dont like using flash on animals that are used to the dark.

Cuddlefish, he is waving hello :) i have another image of him with those same two tenticals crossed like a little gentleman.

    http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/q...k/eyelash1.jpg
    Eyelash viper.

    http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/q...reshPrawn1.jpg
Giant Freshwater Prawn. this guy would have put some lobsters ive seen to shame.

    http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/q...ok/gaboon1.jpg
Gaboon Viper, he was the BIGGEST gaboon i've ever seen. He was sleeping.

    http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/q...ook/jelly1.jpg
Jelly fish, i can't recall what type.

    http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/q.../RedPanda1.jpg
    Red panda. SO CUTE.

    http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/q...ook/Panda1.jpg
    Sleepy giant panda.

    http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/q...mossyfrog1.jpg
Vietnamese mossy tree frog. I enjoy this picture.

The last image was not taken at the zoo, i found this poor humming bird dead at the Glenmont metro station outside of DC. I'm fascinated with birds and i'm sad that my first upclose incounter with a humming bird was with one that was diseased, but i tried to take a few good pictures of him. Hopefully he'll go on to feed other creatures so his death wont be senseless. As far as i can tell, he flew into a concrete pole, but his body seemed to be in very good shape.

    Gorgeous zoo pics!!

If you're ever in Tucson, AZ....be sure to check out the Sonoran Desert Museum...which is not really a museum, but a cross between a zoo and a botanical garden in the desert. It's an awesome place to see...AND...they have a humming bird aviary that you can walk through that has TONS of beautiful humming birds you can get right up close to. When I was there with my Dad once...one particularly friendly little bird perched right on my arm...which was amazing because you can see it sitting there, but it's SO light weight that you don't really feel it. Breathtaking experience!

i rescued a baby hummingbird that fell out of a tree (:. nursed her so she could fly (named her jellybean) and when she was about 3 months of age, we took her to a sanctuary where they continue to nurse certain exotics and release them. it was awesome having her flutter in place right above my hand ^-^.

I love cheetahs! Sorry about the bird...:tears:

By the way, we have the same first name. :) I can tell because of the watermark.
