    first rack? plywood.
    Hi i am building my first rack. i bought ply wood and have cut it down to size to start making it. will ply wood be okay? is it toxic to snakes? also where can i get a reasonably priced thermostat. thanks

    you can use plywood just put a non toxic sealer on it just to be safe.

    you can get a great thermostat here

    Use Rust-Olium indoor/outdoor LATEX based paint. Very water resistant and looks really nice. Also, one coat is sufficient. :) Cures in 24hrs as well.

    That's the stuff I use on racks and cages alike and it's great! And yes, plywood is quite safe, you just want to make it water resistant or it warps something awful. :)
