Rep. John Conyers (D) - MI - Committee on the Judiciary (Chair)
Representative John Conyers (D) of Michigan, Chair of the Committee on the Judiciary, responding to criticism that congress is moving so fast on proposals so complex that lawmakers don't have time to actually READ the legislation said this:

"I love these members that get up and say, 'read the bill!' W-w-what good is reading the bill if it's a thousand pages and and you don't have a two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?"

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the man who CHAIRS the committee currently hearing HR2811.

This man is a disgrace and should be pressured by everyone in the state of Michigan (elsewhere too for that matter) to immediately resign. If you don't have the time to read, nor the capacity to comprehend, the legislation you are VOTING on you should step down NOW.

Leave the running of the country to those who actually have the ability to do so.
