    bp very active
just wondering if this is normal for a juv. (about 20'' long). Shes in a 10 gal with two similar hides on each end. Hot side is 93 and cool side is 78-80. Humidity is in the 50s. She is always out moving around and rarely goes in the hides now. But after she is done eating she will go in the hides and stay there for a day. I'm feeding her fuzzies....should I go with something else?? just curious

I have a BP that is about the same length, and I feed her small mice. You might want to try a small mouse and see how she does with it. Or maybe 2 fuzzies.

What kind of hides do you have? Pictures would be nice.

I would say her size is normal. If you aren't feeding her rats yet, I would consider making the switch as soon as possible. It tends to get a lot harder to do so later. When snakes are on the move like that it normally means they are looking for food. I have 4 hatchlings and when they are fed well they don't normally come out during the days for about 3-4 days(they tend to be active at night though). Then I tend to feed again on the 5th day.

Try a rat pup. Im pretty sure she will eat it. :) If it is too small, try something a little bigger next time, untill you find a good size.

My newest addition is a Male Ghost BP weighing in at 382 grams and is about 20 inches long - he already eats Rat Weanlings that are about 35 grams each.

BP's are generally ready for hoppers by the time they hatch. Mine is about 22" long and is eating adult mice. You may want to try hoppers every 5 days for a couple weeks then to small adult mice.
