Could it just be a drop in temp?
Last night Mas was starting her nightly roam around her tank and I decided to bring her out for a bit. As I removed the lid from her tank I noticed a wheezing sound, sort of like a squeaky toy sound. At first I thought (hoped) it was just my nose whistling or something. So I stopped breathing and sure enough, it was Mas. Each time she contracted while breathing she would wheeze. But as soon as I picked her up she quit. Within the past 3 weeks I had to throw away her light because as I was changing her tank I didn't pay attention to where the cord was and the rats (they're kept in the cage under the table holding the tank) chewed it up. So the temp has been lower than usual (low 80's). The humidity has been really good (in the high 50's low 60's). I am getting a lamp today. Is it likely the low temp could be the cause?

Either that or some stuck shed in the nostril.

Keep an eye on it. If you notice drooling, mucous, or bubbling, then see a vet.

The rats chewed the cord up? I don't seem to understand how the rats could get to the cord. Unless they have an open top?

Because I didn't pay attention to where the cord was laying, and it was right on top of the cage and they chewed it between the wires. Normally this wouldn't have been a problem because I make it a point to check where the cord is in relation to the cage. But I was in a hurry and didn't realize the cage was further left than it should have been.

It was. I was gone from my house for a few days because my son was having surgery and there was just a lot going on and forgot to turn the a/c down before I left. usually during the day when I am gone I turn the a/c up so it stays warmer in here. But I haven't noticed any more wheezing so hopefully it was just some stuck shed. She didn't shed all in one piece this last time so I think that could have been it.
