    First time feeding question
My BP hasn't eaten in 2 weeks. I got him a week ago and have given him a week to get used to his new home. He spends most of his time in his hide. He's still on fuzzy's and I just thawed one in warm water, made sure it was fully thawed and left it a few inches away from the opening in his hide. Turned off the lights and left him alone. How long should I wait to check if he has eaten it?

Wiggle it in front of his hide? Or should I remove the hide then wiggle it?

one of mine is a shy eater. Put the rat in front of his hide, shut-off the lights and leave him alone. If I wake up during the night I will check to see if he ate. Otherwise I check when I wake up. If the mouse is still there throw it away and try again later...

Next time you feed, try prescenting the room. Here's a great article on how to do it.

That usually gets them into feeding mode so they poke their head out of the hide. Then you can do the zombie dance and BAM!

I should know, I just did it a minute ago. :)

I'll try this next time... well I took the fuzzy out soak him in warm water in a zip lock bag. Wiggled him in front of the hide for a little bit then left the head sitting in the entrance of the hide. Turned off the lights for a bit and just checked and the little fuzzy is gone woot :)
