    Color Changed?
Ok so my Female ball-python has changed colors. I had to leave her at my parents for about 4 months. Inside that 4 months my mother has had a cat box in the room with the snakes. I also got a male ball about 6 months ago.

So in the last 6 months or so she has gotten lighter. I just noticed when I went to feed her that shes a lot lighter and a little thicker.

Could she be pregnant? :D Do balls change colors during pregnancy? Is it the cat box? or Is it come thing that I have not accounted for?

Oh and she loves to be in the water. She liked it be for but now she does it every time the light is on.

Um...she could be glowing which is a phenomena that happens during the breeding process.

Were you housing the male and female together? Are you prepared for eggs if she is gravid?

Sitting in the water bowl isn't a good sign. Check for mites.

Also...is that a heat rock? If so, they are very dangerous and will burn your animal.

I've heard of and seen before/after pics of BPs that went through a color change (usually losing pigment or becoming much lighter in color) that seems unrelated to breeding as well.

Well then it is very possible you have eggs.
If you haven't already, separate the male and female. Them living together isn't a good option.

I would check for mites again. Unless you have treated the enclosure with provent-a-mite, then there is a good chance there are mites.

If you want to learn more about ball python breeding, check the "breeding forum". I won't get into the details since it is a very complex and lengthy process. You should at least know what to expect if she does lay a clutch.

    i hope she's gravid!
if you're really worried just take her to the vet, it would be way easier than trying to guess.
