    Tub Light
    Ok Hey Everyone,
Right now my ball python is still a juvi, but I'm planning to switch him from a tank to a tub once he gets bigger. I plan on putting him in my closet which doesn't get a lot of light in it. I have my Garter Snake in the closet too in a 30 gallon tank but he has a light so I don't worry about day and night cycle. But for my ball I'm going to use a UTH so how do I create a day and night cycle for it. My closet is far away from window so even during day no light and I can't just keep my closet light on for 10 hours a day.

If you can't keep your closet light on or use another source of light in said closet, then I'd say don't put it in there. While bp's don't specifically need a day/night cycle like other animals, keeping them in the dark 24/7 probably isn't a good idea.

What if you open the closet door during the day?

Many many reptile keepers keep their snakes in rooms/sheds/buildings without a lot of light source. Many have no windows and lights are only turned on when tending the snakes.
I would say, if your concerned about it, keep the door open. The light from the other snake will also provide enough of a cycle. As long as it's not constantly pitch black I wouldn't be concerned.

Would the corn tank provide enough light for the bp too? You're planning on keeping them in the same closet, right?

Yes the other snake light will be fine then. I wasn't sure if it had to be bright like if I were to go outside.
