Just picked this beautiful boy up today, nicest one I've seen in a while,
and he's very personable, not at all skittish.

    Thank you both.

Oh you definitely should, its really not too hard at all actually. People make it out to be a lot harder than it actually is, its mainly just more expensive, and some of the fish are more delicate than most freshwater, but as long as your Nitrogen cycle is cycled and good you shouldn't have any problems. I mod the SaltWater section on this one forum, http://aquatropicalfish.com/forum/in...referredby=724, if you'd like to check it out, theres a bunch of articles I'm trying to write up on starting a tank, the nitrogen cycle, common diseases, etc. =]

your forgetting to add one thing about the ease of saltwater....your filters must be good. unless you are using the right filtration methods, then saltwater isn't too difficlut. fish only with live rock are easier to deal with.

    This is true.

And yes FOWLR tanks are a bit easier because Corals need extra trace elements such as calcium and iodine that you have to add and they're picky about water quality.

Your tank has a very back case of Cyanobacteria it is that red slime algea stuff on your sand bed...the bast way to remove it is with the halp of herbivores and manual removal...I would go to your LFS and get 1 Blueleg par gal...cyano is not palatable to many harbivores...Very fest growing
Strong water flow to phyically prevent...Remove by hand or siphon as well..
Sorry to Hijack the thread.......nice fish....

I dont think you should do that.. Maybe work on your tank and not tell someone that you are going to be giving advice of any kind. Your problem is beginer 101....
