My Upcoming BP Rack Schematics
Hey guys, I got the initial look of how my ball python rack is going to look like. It is a 4 tubs high and 2 tubs across, which means 8 tubs. I am going to be using ARS 70 series Gray Tubs with cup-holders( Because they look amazing.)I am going to be using four long 2x4s for the shelves to be screwed onto and for the wheels on the bottom and pegboards as the shelves so I won't need to solder holes into the tubs. I will be using belly heat with 3" inch flexwatt and I will be wiring myself because its not that hard all it involves is crimping the female end to metal connectors then crimping those to the corners of the flexwatt and covering it up with electrical tape to prevent shocking and aluminum foil tape to keep it from moving via tubs going in and out. I will be controlling it with a Herpstat ND with a grounded plug and I will put the probe on the 2nd shelve and in the middle so it won't obstruct any tubs from going in and to keep temps a bit more stable since the lowest rack won't have much as heat and the rack on the top will have most of the heat. I did draw it out on paper but my printer won't scan in into my computer. I don't plan on breeding, just going to keep 8 snakes, but this is going to be a very fun project for me since building stuff is fun:)
Any thing to help with this initial design WILL be greatly appreciated and will be considered on the final design.:)
Re: My Upcoming BP Rack Schematics
Hi,
Just one point that springs to mind - won't the tub in the shelf above block the holes over the vast majority of the pegboard?
And of course the humidity from the tub will cause the pegboard to expand quite quickly. :(

Well I was planning to leave like an 1/8th inch or 1/5 inch between the tubs and shelves and its humid in texas and even with my UTH in my bp's glass aquarium the humidity is like 65% so I think it will work and maybe sealing the pegboard and letting it sit might keep it from expanding.

I don't know about you but shoving sealant in each one of those holes would seem like a major pain.
Might want to rethink melamine.
