Bath time?

At what point during the shed cycle do you utilize a warm bath?

My girl has been hiding for a week today. I never noticed her eyes turning milky but her skin was whitish and her belly pink when I took her out last, a week ago.

I was going to try and bathe her tonight and then offer her some dinner. She usually eats every 5 days... it's only been about 10 days since her last feeding.

This will be the first time she's gone through a shed cycle with us from beginning to end. She shed about a week or two after we first got her almost 4 months ago. At that point, I didn't know jack from squat and assumed she was just acclimating to her new home and acting shy.

This time I think I noticed it when her belly turned pink. Like I said, her eyes never clouded up but her skin has been getting duller and duller and when she went into seclusion a week ago it was definitely ghostly looking.

Just looking for a little input and reassurance.:D

ive been told that you dont need to bathe. just up the temps a tad and the humidity. my girl is in shed and i let her swim in the tub for a min or two but it was basicaly just so i could get a cool video of her lol. it isnt a must

Bp's do not need to soak before shed. It can dry out their skin and make it harder to shed.

I realize that it is not necessary. I thought it might be beneficial to her however, seeing as she has not passed waste in a longer than usual time frame, the shed cycle and she hasn't been handled in a week. I have peeked in on her a couple of times a day just because I'm neurotic and a bit of an obsessive mommy and she seems fine. I don't want to bother her but if it will help her, I'm grateful for that and the opportunity to handle her. Otherwise I'll just leave her be.

A question on the temps... Should I keep it warmer day and night? If so, what is the range? She's at pretty optimal temps right now but it is easy enough to adjust.

Whoa! I just peeked in on her, I'm fixin' her dinner and what a suprise.
She's looked pretty normal, just whitish skin but just now.... She's totally milky, her eyes as well. It looks freaky.:O

I'm just going to leave her alone. She'll come out when she's hungry.

Just keep the humidity up around 70% all the time and she will shed a day or 2 after she clears up. I noticed mine had shed when I peeked at her and her eyes were shony and clean. Took a look in the other hide and bam, a brown log, pile of skin, and some pee.

would using a moist sponge as a way to increase humidity be effective? I use aspen shavings and the humididty stays at about 55% all the time. Im trying to think of a way to save money and not buy an $8.00 bag of sphagnum moss.
