Best place to get a UVB bulb?
I need a UVB bulb for my water dragon and was wondering if the grow lights at Lowes are ok. if not, where is the best place to get a UVB bulb?
thanks
Edit: I see grow lights dont work and was looking at durotest vita light but which one?
Re: Best place to get a UVB bulb?
Try getting those 8.0 UVB bulbs for your water dragons, maybe even 10.0 if you want them to get alot of artificial sunlight.

Re: Best place to get a UVB bulb?
Actually dude you need to get one that is made especially for reptiles, like zilla, exo-terra, or ESU. Go to reptiledepot.com or lllreptile.com and get either a mercury vapor bulb or a UVB fluorescent tube.
Re: Best place to get a UVB bulb?
Mercury vapor bulbs are the only ones you should be buying if you want a bulb that will give your reptile the propper UVB. The bulb has to be replaced every 6 months even if it isn't burned out. You also need to find out how close to the lizard it needs to be depending on the bulbs wattage. If its too far it wont provide enough UVB.
Re: Best place to get a UVB bulb?
This is a real good UV bulb and heat source. I use these for Dragons with the flouresant 10 UV bulbs as well.

Re: Best place to get a UVB bulb?
Thanks guys!
I will pick up a tube light.
Re: Best place to get a UVB bulb?
Ok, so which is better coil or tube?
I can get both and both will be about the same distance from him.
the tube would go over his fav spot to hang out and the coil he would have to go bask.
Re: Best place to get a UVB bulb?
The coil or the tube bulbs dont get hot so if you already have a heat source you a fine with those, if you dont have a heat source the mercury vapors puts out powerful UV and heat and make a great basking spot.
You DONT want the animal to be able to touch the mercury vapor bulb or they will get badly burned.
