    herp collection numbering??
ok, so I know this is a dumb question.... but why do the numbers mean next to peoples' herp collections. Like a lot of poeple put things like 1.5 ball python, 2.0 leopard geckoes. 0.1 dog. How the hell can you have one tenth of a dog???!!!!!!! I have seen this on every herp site for years and never understood what it meant.

    Males, Females, Unknown

So 2.1.3 Python Regius would mean...

2 Males, 1 Female, 3 with unknown sex

The first number is males, 2nd is females and 3rd is unknown

    soooo 1.2.5 would be

    1 male
    2 females
    5 unknown

Edit: 2Kdime is faster than me!

Peter it's not a "dumb" question. It's not like any of us were born knowing what those numbers mean either. :)
