Should I be worried?
Hey, I'm new here at ball-pythons.net, I have looked all over the internet for an answer for my dilemma but I had no success, I was hoping you guys here, could help me. :please:
I have a baby BP, I bought him about 2 months ago, he eats well, the humidity in his cages varies from 55%-65%, and I keep the temp 75 - 85 degrees.
So, the problem is his shed, everything went well for the few first days, his eyes became cloudy, his belly became pink, but on the 7th day of his shed, his eyes cleared up, today will be the 9th day of his shed, I've been told that after his eyes clear up, he will shed within 24 hours. Should I be worried?
P.S. I tried giving him a bath today, I don't know if that will help.
-Thanks

Re: Should I be worried?
Just make sure the humidity is up high enough.
He'll shed pretty soon:D

Re: Should I be worried?
ya bump up humidity and bump up your temps also even when not in shed hot side temps need to be 92-95

Re: Should I be worried?
If the humidity is right, you should not have a problem. You do not need to give him a bath. Just wait for him to shed.
Good luck!

Re: Should I be worried?
No worries If you can increase the humidity for this period will definately the shed come right of.... just mist the cage.

Re: Should I be worried?
Some of mine take 2 days or so after they clear up before they shed fully.
Have a read over the following two links. They should provide you with some excellent guidelines.

Re: Should I be worried?
Humidity up and he will shed just perfect for ya. :D You need to bump up his warm side temp. too. Try to get it between 90-94. :gj:

Re: Should I be worried?
If you don't have a spray bottle, try placing a wet towel on top of the cage. Just remember to squeeze it out good enough so that water isn't raining into the cage. This usually gets my humidity to 70-80% and the sheds come off good. As for the shed schedule, all snakes are different Each one sheds at it's own pace.
It is also a good idea to keep accurate and current records to document sheds, feedings, poops etc.. This will give you an idea of when to start expecting a shed. Keeping good records also helps out the vet if the snake gets sick. Hope this helps...
