BP Vs. Cat

:snake:Hey everyone, I have a new room mate comming in and they have a cat. Their mom doesnt want the cat in the same place as a snake. So I'm just wondering what the experts think would happen if an adult cat and a 3ft BP locked up. I think I know, but I'm just looking for more opinions on the matter.

The cat would do some serious damage to the bp. I would advise against even thinking about finding out, the bp would lose and suffer some pretty bad scratch and bite marks. keep the cat out of the snake room and it should be fine.

Unless the bp is out wandering freely, this should never even have a chance of happening. But I say, if the cat is large, it would have a good chance of hurting the snake!

Honestly I think the python would probably kill the cat. But it might suffer fatal wounds in the process. I only say this because of how house cats fight with their back legs and use their claws to kick things that are right on top of them.

If this cat doesn't have any back claws, then I really don't think it would have a chance.

But like everyone else said... This scenario should never happen.

There won't ever be a problem as long as your enclosures are properly secured.

My cat has sniffed around in curiosity, but there is no way for him to get in and I know my snakes can't get out, so I don't worry about it.

Likely the cat would win and the Ball would lose. The snake would be far more scared of the cat.

How could contact even occur if the snake is securely contained? Our cat has looked at our new BP, touched the tank, and that's about it.

< Has two Sphynx cats valued at about $3000, plus 35 Ball Pythons of various sizes valued at a couple grand, yeah... Not going to let either of them near each other.

Never had a snake get out and the cats are secured while I am in the snake room. It's not an issue.

My snakes are well secured. When I first got into Balls I had a ton of escapes. Quality caging is the way to go. I have one cat who spends a lot of his day in the snake room. He loves how hot it is. I have 2 Boas that could do some damage to him if not kill him and I never have any concern. Safety first peoples! :)

thanks everyone for confirming my suspicions with a total score of 7-1-0 I think the cat is pretty safe. plus since I never had a real escape this should never happen at any rate.
