canon sx110is vs nikon l100
I've been needing a new camera for a while now but have held out for something I really like. I believe I have narrowed it down to one of these two. Any suggestions on which one is better for the money. The one thing I really don't like about the Nikon is you can't use rechargable batteries. Was also looking at the Fujifilm 1500.

Image Stabilization is a great feature. It would allow you to take pictures under lower light situations and not have to worry so much about camera shake causing blurry shots. I believe that's what the IS stands for on the canon you listed in the title.

Thanks for the input! The Canon is the one I am leaning towards simply because the Nikon does not use rechargeable batteries.

I've been using Canon for 3 years now. Absolutely love it! I think JuddB also shoots with Canon (have to check with him on that) You can't go wrong saving up a little more and getting a base DSLR.

you can buy rechargeable AA batterys if you want. i understand the frustration of them not coming with the camera first though.

I have rechargeable batteries, however, rechargeable batteries will cause the Nikon to not work properly. This means I would have to buy A LOT of batteries.

i have a few friends that are photographers and they said its just a matter of brand preference. both are excellent brands that are going to give you a good a camera, just go with the one that feels more comfortable to you.
