Late locks and year round breeding?
Just wanted "the people's" input on these two topics. Was wonderin if anybody had any experience, or knew someone that did, get REALLY late locks, or "off season" locks. I also wanted to know if any of you have ever tried "tricky cycles" and was successful at breeding them during the summer, or producing hatchlings, in say, January? Any info shared and successful stories would be greatly appreciated.

I have a few females being bred as we speak. I'm expecting eggs at the end of the year :)

As for late late clutches, I have yet to get them, but I never bred for them either.

I had a pair lock up two weeks ago and the female is showing signs so maybe i will get an off-season clutch for the first time.

Sometime in May I decided to just keep breeding -- all year. Controlling night temps during hot months and giving males an off-season will be my biggest issues -- unless there are some I am unaware -- which is LIKELY. ;)

I will say that this week I had locks, ovulations, clutches laid, and babies hatching -- that is a pretty good week. :D

I tried to pair mine back up last week, but they wanted nothing to do with each other. Only reason I tried is that I had paired them this season..and it seemed like things were going great, lots of locks etc, but no babies :( Oh well, it is almost next season anyways.

I breed through out the whole year...I had eggs laid every month last year except one...It would have been every month if one female hadn't decided to go a few days past her prelay shed.
