    On the move
I went to get the camera and missed my daytime opportunity for a picture.

I have a mouse thawing out in a dish on top of the screen covering the tank and she came out to do a little bit of exploring. Could she be smelling it already?

First attempt at feeding tonight, wish me luck! :hungry:

I actually think thats a really cool picture. I love the way it came out. Almost surreal.

Best of luck with your feeding! To thaw the mouse more quickly, you can get a container and fill it with warm-hot water. Put the mouse in a ziplock bag and set it in the water.

Hope everything goes well for you!

the water idea is good but before you give it to him/her take a blowdryer and heat it up with that and let the air blow towards the cage... its worked for me.

    goodluck!

Well, no luck. It may be partially due to my excitement, I ended up trying to feed earlier than she starts waking up.

Tonight i'll try again later to see if it works. She ate last Saturday so I'm not all that worried about starvation. We brought her home Sunday.

I thawed the mouse out in a bowl on top of the cage. It was completely thawed out when I put it in the enclosure with her. I did get some interest when I danced the mouse around about 8" from her but no strike.

If tonight doesn't work out I am thinking of trying again mid week then switching to live as a last resort?

Temps are good and humidity is good so I don't think it's an environmental thing at all.

If the snake doesn't eat tonight, wait 5 days and try again.

You could try leaving the f/t mouse in the tank over night if she doesn't take it when you dance it.

I wasn't sure how long the "meat" could sit before it became toxic. I left it in the tank about three hours after it was fully thawed.

I really do think I started the whole process much to early yesterday. I know I don't roll out of bed and start eating. I'll wait 5 days after tonight if it doesn't work out.

    Thanks for the advice.

More like 1.5 miles per hour :D

It was a 1 second exposure time. Long exposures seem to be pretty cool with the snake pictures i've taken since they track along the same path and the blur looks nice and uniform.
