burrowing?

    burrowing?
    ive been noticing more and more that my rtb has been burroing himself under the aspen. is this normal?

    Yep, that's actually one of the reasons I like aspen for my terrariums. It's kind of like one big hide :)

    My BCI doesn't use hides but rather knocks over his wooden climbing branches and burrows himself under those and aspen so his little head peeks up through the branches.

    Boas have more of a tendency to burrow for some reason, especially Dumeril's and ground boas.

    Often when I pull my tubs out to check on my boas or change their water I either see no snake at all or just a head poking out. My DH male doesn't do it as often but the rest of them do all the time. Just depends on the snake I guess.

    I have 3 that are always hiding. All that pokes out is their head. I give them about 6 inches of aspen to hide in. I keep them in 75 gallon aquariums with lots of sticks to climb on but they never use them.
    If i remember ill get some pics when i get off work.
