Halothane?

I've been reading up on rat/mouse euthanasia and was wondering if anyone here has used halothane?

I know that's for pet mice and rats, but the same would apply. Would that be practical to euthanize a number of feeders?

It would be practical, but I would not use them as feeders.

That is a very old inhalant anesthetic and is not used anymore.

Just use CO2 and be humane about it. Anesthetized animals generally do not die unless you leave them on the max gas % for quite a long time. It would be very wasteful.

Also, where in the world are you going to get a regulator, anesthesia machine and the gas to do so? It's state regulated and you need a license, not to mention the scavenger system so you don't go into a coma as well, PLUS the oxygen tanks.

CO2 is just so much easier not to mention MUCH less expensive. You can get it at paintball shops.

Thanks for clearing it up. I was just wondering since I came across it, I don't know anything about feeders or euthanasia of them, nor methods (except CO2). I was just curious what people on here would think about it since I came across it.
