    recessive or co-dom purchase question?
Im banging my head on this...

so which one would you suggest me pick?

    recessive = male piebald
    co-dom = female lesser

my collection which in the future i would like to produce eggs:
    male pastel
    female pinstripe
    female normal
    female silverstreak

if the pied was a female, no question ask, i'll take the pied. but its a male, but is also a pied. holding both of these, i like to get them both.. but i only got $$$ to buy either one, which if i buy the lesser, i'll save $$$, lot of it.

    next year, i'll breed:
    pastel x pinstripe
    pastel x normal
albino x silverstreak (loaning that albino from a friend)
    OR
pastel x lesser (if i were to get the lesser)

    if i get the pied.
the only pairing i can think of is pied x normal. I can use the pinstripe but i want to try getting lemonblast 1st. or i can loan a female mojave from my friend.

so anyone want to advice me.

I dont know they age of your collection but females take the most time to build up so if you need girls start bringing them up. Thats what I would do.

depending on the age of the 2 either.... females take a longer time to adjust and to gain the proper weight for breeding. males are easy so I would say look at the option if there both ready(weight wise) I would go with the female.. no questions asked.

oh sorry. all the females will be aroubd 2yrs 5-7mths in july 2010. and based on a 80-110grams/mth weight increase, they will reach 1500grams in april-may2010, or maybe earlier since they are now switching to rats.

Are the two you're picking from hatchlings, sub-aduts, adults? If they're hatchlings, the female will take time to build up. So you might want to get her. Then in a year or two, you can save up $$ and get a male pied, prices will be cheaper, and they can be breeding at a year.

get the male pied and then some hets from reputable breeders. there are some really good deals on hets out there right now, as well as some crazy co-doms that are het for pied.

dang!!! the pied & lesser i think is sold.

now i either have to choose:
    650+ gram, male Butter
    650+ gram, female Genetic Stripe

the butter is a male. (50/50 on this, as my fren got a butter, and we can swap babies in the future)
the G-stripe = its a female.. its good, but not my 1st choice on recessive morph.

A-if u go with the genetic stripe u can borrow that albino and make double hets which would be a cool project

B-if you go with the butter male borrow the female mojave for some lucys
plus with the sliver streak and pinstripe would put out some awesome combos

I would personally go with A but depends on preference and if you want more visual stuff sooner.
