Treating new tubs with PAM
I'm getting a rack from RBI and shortly thereafter three BPs from NERD. Does it make sense to treat the tub with PAM (Provent-a-Mite) before putting the BPs in it? Is there any preventative value in doing so?

Thats a really good question. Wish I could answer but I cannot!

Well, couldn't hurt! It is Provent a mite after all.
Or you could just wait to get the snakes. I am not really sure, this is my best guess.
Re: Treating new tubs with PAM
Any new snake coming into my house goes into a pretreated tub.
Re: Treating new tubs with PAM
Thanks all - I'll treat the tubs before putting the snakes in.
Re: Treating new tubs with PAM
Being new to snakes, I didn't realize till this thread that PAM = Provent a Mite. I only know PAM as that cooking spray, and so wondered why a new tub would be sprayed with it. :D (Hey, at least I know better that no one on this forum would cook their snakes!) :O

lol you are not the first :)
Re: Treating new tubs with PAM
I think the advantage to spraying tubs with PAM the cooking spray is, if you do get mites, at least the little buggers will be slipping and sliding all over the place. :D

Re: Treating new tubs with PAM
I always pre-treat my enclosures with P-A-M, no matter who they come from. For me, it's a best practice.
