    What size?
Hi there everyone, I'm newish to BP and would first like to say thanks to everybody. I have learned more on BP in the last three weeks then I have in community college for the past three months lol.

Furthermore I have a question for those out their who know the answer. My BP Apothis is 9 months old and I have been feeding him F/T "fuzzies" and it seems one is just no longer enough for the little guy so should I be feeding him two fuzzies a week or bump him up to the next size in F/T mice? thanks for your time and understanding.

You should probably go up a size, and maybe even switch to rats... how much does he weigh right now?

I just noticed the BP is 9 months old, so I would guess he's ready for a bigger meal! My male is only about 5 months (currently 330g), and already pounding live adult mice and rat weanlings. :gj: He is a pig though, LOL.

The majority of ball pythons can take adult mice as hatchlings.

I could be wrong here but I thought the general rule is a snake can eat something the same width of the fastest part of the snake's body. I just bought a BP thats a few weeks old and it's eating hoppers already so i'm sure your 9 month old could take probably a normal to large mouse. This is my first BP so i'm not sure how they act when hungry. I do know when my dumeril is hungry it gets real active at night, like it's searching for food. After it's fed she lays around for a week and a half or so then gets active again when she gets hungry. I'm sure theres some way of your snake letting you know that it's hungry you just have to try your best to interpt what your snakes body language is telling you. Hope that helps :)

From feeding such small meals, your BP is probably under weight or has had its growth stunted. Don't worry, he will be just fine.

Go out and get a scale and some adult mice. You should feed him around 10-15% of his body weight. Then, watch him grow!!
