Anyone here been to or is from Guam?

I want to hear your experience if you been there or what village you were from if you lived there. I don't expect a lot of people have been to Guam let alone know where Guam is so this will be a small thread.

I was there in 2007, we stopped over on deployment. I dont know where I was, but I do know that when snorkeling under the influence you must remember that youre not scuba diving, and inhaled saltwater is not conducive to a pleasant snorkeling experience. :P

Your a marine?

I was stationed in Okinawa and if we had severe storms coming we would move our C130's to Guam. So i have been there 30 maybe 40 times. But never longer then a couple days at a time.

I should of known the military side of bp.net would respond cuz the navy or marines usually get stationed around there.

Anything specific you're wanting to know? I have a friend who's dad was stationed on Guam for something like 11 years so she's put in some time there. :)

Way back in '93, my hubby was flying back from Korea (he's in the AF). They landed in Guam to refuel and switch flight crews...but the plane broke and they ended up being stuck there for several days waiting for parts to fix it. For whatever reason, there was no military billeting available for the guys on the plane, so they all got put up in some fancy-schmancy resort hotel. 5-star treatment the whole time! Dean had a great little vacation...while I was stuck at home alone, 8 months prego with our first child and didn't know a soul because we hadn't lived there very long. It's been 16 years and I'm still PO'd about it. :rofl:

Negative, ex-navy. Just barely got out in Novemeber. Oh wow. Thats almost a year now. Weird.
