I've gotta be honest, I'm kind of jealous...
So it seems that Buttery McMuffintop (Freddie) has been having a lot of cuddle time with my girlfriend. So much so that she (Freddie) has grown a strong emotional bond to her (or so it seems).
Just now my girlfriend had to go take care of something and asked me to hold Freddie in the mean time. When she handed her over, Freddie actually pulled away from me and tried to climb back up her arm. She fought really hard to get back to my girlfriend. Anyone else experience that kind of bond with a snake??
Earlier today my girlfriend put Freddie across the bed and sat back to see what would happen. The snake actually traveled all the way to her (past potentially warm hides/burrows and what not) and then proceeded to climb up her arm and wrap around her neck on the choker she was wearing (Freddie's favorite spot apparently...)
So yeah...I do say I am kind of jealous. I am glad that they do have that kind of bond though...it will definitely make it much easier convincing her to let me buy more snakes in the future...HA! :P
(Freddie has been in my lap the whole time I was writing this...and she appears less than satisfied with the attention I've given her...so time's up for now lol!)

Cute! Do BPs usually prefer one person over everyone else? Or do they generally not care who's holding them?

One of my boyfriends females BP's have exhibitted behaviors like that .... Mel is his snake and she makes sure that i know that. When I come into his bedroom she will get out of the blankets on his bed to curl up on his legs.... any other time of the day she will stay curled up in the blankets. lol.... I try to let her know when I am coming into the room and stay on the opposite side of him from her.....

There is a definate difference is some of our snakes form when I'm holding them to when my husband is. Some are calmer with me, some seem to 'prefer' him.
I think it has to do with body heat, the subtlties in how we move when we hold them, confidence, and without a doubt ARM HAIR. My snakes have no problems roaming my arms, but some of them really seem to hate my husband's arm hair!

My carpet python is better around me than my girlfriend. My girlfriend wants to HANDLE and HOLD the snake.
I adopt a philosophy of "be the tree". I just make myself into a climbing object that is slightly mobile :D

It is good for your significant-other to love your snakes! Makes it that much easier to buy more. ;)

My BP Candice likes to hang out with me. She likes being held by other people, but she feels most comfortable around me. Right now she's in my lap taking a nap. I fell asleep on my couch for 2 hours one day and I had Candice on my stomach with my hand kinda holding onto her so she doesn't fall off and when I woke up she was still there sleeping too. She likes to cuddle I guess because she's always sitting curled up on me, but other times she likes to roam around.
