not moving from warm side
My BP just shed on Thursday and has not moved from the warm side of his enclosure since. The cool side is at 82 and the ambient temp is at 80. The warm side is at 92. Is this normal for him not to come out of his warm hide since he shed? He does come out at night but then he retreats back to the warm side. I am using a UTH on the warm side. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Re: not moving from warm side
BP's like the warmth. There's no problem if one wants to stay on his warm side as long as the temperature's not too high or too low. :)
Re: not moving from warm side
All mine usually stay on the warm side, except for some night time exploring.
Re: not moving from warm side
Thank you both for your replies to my question. I figured it was normal for my BP to be on the warm side but I needed confirmation that it is so. I am going to feed him tomorrow as that is his normal feeding schedule. He does not eat for me when he is in shed. He tends to be a little tempermental during shed also so I try not to bother him to much except for spot cleaning and refreshing his water. Thanks again for your replies.

My BP likes to hang out in her cool hide all the time! Is that cool too?

It's all preference for each individual snake. As long as you give them access to a warm and cool side, they will thermoregulate as they please.
